Xbox froze while updating
Have you tried booting up without being connected to Xbox Live?
Haven't had the issue since.i found that if you want to play a game, like myself, i wanted to play halo 4 but having the same problems signing in before i could even get to the main screen.
This issue is likely due to a high increase in update traffic on the Microsoft server due to the Xbox One console launch, similair to the launch of the PS4.
A possible work-around would be to attempt to update your console at a more optimal performance time, such as early in the morning (2AM - 10AM), as you are more likely to encounter a receptive updating time with people at school or work.
I logged in and was prompted to do an update, so I did. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it didn't make a difference.
Some Xbox One users are reporting system freezes, particularly in regard to their startup screens.
So I get home from work, looking to watch Netflix, turn on Xbox, has a system update so I update. I had a similar issue and was unable to load the home screen.
I decide to watch TV in the meantime, check back every so often to see progress, check it, Xbox is frozen on the start up loading screen. It does its logo fly by, then a white screen with a loading circle then my background picture from the theme I have pops in, circle still going but 5 seconds later, it freezes. Unplugged my Xbox from the network and it booted normally.
If you did all that,i haven't got a clue what else you could try Did you keep the sync button held down until you got the red light?
also make sure you are holding the sync before you hit the power button.
